To appease my sensibilities for just this short report, let's stop calling people, traffic.

Traffic is cars, trucks, and buses cruising up and down our roads and streets. The beings coming to your websites aren't cars, trucks and buses. They're people. They're someone's Mom, Dad, son or daughter. People. People we want to help when they get to our websites.

Because we want the right people to visit, we want to be candid, and clear, when we promote the content we've put on our web sites. Yep, our 'meta tags' should entice clicks.

But, we want the description of our content accurate. It's to our benefit, to make sure the people who click on our link, will quickly, and easily, find what we described they would find.

That's why they clicked your link. They're looking for something specific. Some kind of information you implied your site would provide them. Give it to them, or retarget your market. Don't waste your time getting eyeballs who aren't interested in what you're offering. That's just bad marketing.

Anyway, here are five pretty simple methods to get interested people to visit your web sites:

1. Search engine optimization, SEO. Construct web pages around a clearly defined keyword phrase. Put the keyword in your title and in your meta 'description' tag. Use the phrase in your first paragraph, in the body, and in the closing paragraph. But, don't let the use of keywords detract from your visitor's experience.

2. Write articles using a keyword that you've built a web page for. (See #1) Publish the articles at article directories. Submit them to websites and blogs that are relevant to the theme of your website.

3. Post USEFUL comments on blogs having information which would interest your prospects. Link back your comment to web pages you've already optimized for the subject of your comment.

4. Link to your web site index page, and link to individual web pages, from different social sites. If possible, make the links anchor text which includes one of your keywords. (Not always an option.)

5. Update your website often. Search engines, and your fans, need a reason to keep returning. Give them fresh, quality content to satisfy their yens.

We need people, interested in what we're selling, to visit our websites. Otherwise, we're going to have skinny kids. So give your site visitors the content, and the information, you promised them when you enticed them to click on your link.

How To Display RSS Feeds on Your Website?

This article is intended as a guide for webmasters who want to display automatically updated content on their website in the form of RSS feeds. In this article I will cover the easiest method to implement using javascript for displaying RSS on websites to create additional dynamic content. This will allow you to display headlines from syndicated content around the web on your website.

RSS to Javascript.

By far the easiest method is to use client side javascript to parse and display the headlines on your site. To achieve this all you need to do is cut and paste some HTML or javascript code into the web page where you want the RSS feed headlines to display.

To achieve this there are several sites that offer a free service that will allow you to select a few options to choose your feed source and display formatting parameters. You will then be presented with some javascript code that you can cut and paste into your website.

Now before I give you the address of the sites that offer this service freely there are a few points I need to clarify with you. Although you will achieve your goal of displaying dynamic content on your site in a few short minutes there are some downsides to this method.

Javascript is not search engine friendly.

As you may or may not already know, javascript is not visible to search engine spiders. They will not see the RSS feed you have parsed into your site and so this will not benefit you if you are doing this to better your search engine rankings.

You are using a third party service.

The second potential downside is that although the javascript is on your site you are actually calling a script on another server. This could lead to a couple of potential problems. If the server is busy it will mean the news feed will take longer to display on your site. The other point is if the third party server fails or disappears altogether then your feed will not be displayed at all.

In summary there are a few downsides, but if you do not code and want some feeds on your site quickly then this is the way to go. How To Increase Targeted Web Site Traffic

I get on average around 10,000 to 12,000 unique visitors
to my main site each month. Actually, when you're speaking
about the Internet, that's not too much to brag about, but
it's better than getting say 1000 or 2000 visitors; that
was my usual rate until I aggressively went after targeted
traffic for my site.

I thought I would briefly and in very simple terms explain
how I increased the targeted traffic to my main site from
around 1,000 to 10,000 unique visitors each month. That's
a ten-fold increase -- I am aiming for a hundred-fold increase
but would gladly settle for thirty or forty times the traffic.

How did I increase my site's traffic? The answer might just
help you get more traffic to your own site. Most of these
techniques are very simple to implement and if you're
serious about building an online business, lets face it,
the first thing you're going to need is targeted visitors to
your site.

I hope you have noticed I have mentioned the words 'targeted
visitors' several times already. I did this to bring home
the fact that you're not just after traffic but targeted
traffic or visitors to your site. You want visitors to
your site who are already interested in your site's topic
and who are more likely to benefit from your site's content
or products.

It's the first ingredient for a successful web site.

Below are my 5 main sources of targeted traffic to
my site. Along with a short explanation of how you
can create or put the same practices to work for your
own site.

1. RSS EMPOWERED One of most effective sources of traffic
to my site would have to be my blogs and RSS feeds. Notice
I said blogs and feeds; I have created simple blogs and feeds
for the major topics of my site: on rss resources, web
hosting solutions, notebook computers, etc. These blogs
and feeds bring in a great number of targeted visitors
to my site.

With the introduction of Google Blog Search, my blog traffic
is increasing even more. Within minutes of posting to my
blog - I am getting targeted traffic from Google. You
are instantly indexed by Google Blog Search; it's reason
enough for every webmaster to put at least one blog
on their site.

Try to imagine the traffic you'll get when the next
RSS empowered Windows browser arrives from Microsoft.
Get your own site ready and prepared for RSS to take
advantage of all this traffic. Just use Google owned
blogger.com to create your blog -- it has that all
important blog search bar at the top!

2. SEO EMPOWERED Seo optimization should be your
goal! Still the main source of traffic to my site are
the search engines. Mainly from Google, followed by
MSN and Yahoo. You must optimize your site for the search
engines. This includes off/site links and on/site tactics.

I have been online since '98 so I thought I knew how to
optimize a website. Boy, was I ever wrong! I didn't notice
a big jump in my traffic until I stumbled across a SEO
expert, actually stumble is the wrong word, I actually sought out
the best SEO expert I could find. His name is Brad Callen.
He offers a free email course on how to optimize your
sites for the search engines. His main product is SEO Elite.

Just the free course and his helpful newsletter have
really fine-tuned my site, which resulted in a major
increase of traffic especially from Google. You should
try the same for your site or sites and see the results
for yourself.

3. ARTICLE EMPOWERED This one works. Article marketing for
me has been the major reason for the turn around in the
amount of traffic my sites were receiving. It's one of the
most effective ways to get targeted visitors to your site.

Getting your articles published in ezines and on sites
such as addme.com or sitepronews.com will generate an
enormous amount of traffic to your site. As a bonus, you
even get 100's of subscribers to your own ezine in one day!

The trick is to write helpful how-to articles on current
topics that other webmasters want on their sites, this will
boost your link popularity with the search engines and
increase your rankings. You must also very carefully
choose the right keywords to target in your articles,
matching the content on your site. One way to do this
is with a site like http://www.nichebot.com -- it will show
how to pick the right 'competitive' keywords for your
site. You must target keywords that have high traffic,
yet little competition from competing web sites.

My main sources of traffic from article sites include
http://www.ezinearticles.com and http://www.buzzle.com.

4. EZINE EMPOWERED Building a large opt-in list or subscribers
to my ezine is another method that brings in a lot of traffic
to my site. You can use an ezine to offer helpful tips to your
subscribers. It is a very easy way to get repeat visitors
to your site and build up a relationship with your visitors.

Your ezine should relate to your site's theme and offer
more information on the same. Whether you believe it not,
if you operate a site on a particular subject for a couple of
years, you will fast become an expert on that subject.
People will regard you as such and this will also bring
in visitors to your site.

5. VIRAL MARKETING EMPOWERED Another way to attract targeted
visitors is to offer a free product or service. I use free
brandable reports that visitors can download and use. These
reports and ebooks have links back to my sites. One of my most
popular ones is a timely report and guide on how to use and
benefit from RSS on all your sites. It brings in a lot of traffic.

Similar to the one above, I use other free viral techniques to
build targeted traffic to my site. These are products that can
be branded with your links and passed around. Helpful software
programs that match the theme of your site are good choices to
make.

Another popular one that I have on my site is the DATEwise
eCalendar and personal planner that visitors can download and
place on their desktops. It has hotlinks to my site that brings
in traffic. It can be customized with your site's products so
you get targeted visitors or customers.

OTHER SOURCES There are other sources of traffic for my site that
I find effective but they bring in lesser traffic than the methods
listed above. But they are still worth mentioning, one of these is
regular posting on major online forums. This brings in very good
targeted traffic, so too, is posting comments in online blogs.

Another good source is a traffic exchange called 'Traffic Swarm' - most
sites where members exchange traffic don't work. You get worthless
hits to your site. However, Traffic Swarm is one exception that
your should try. You just set your start page to this exchange, and
click on sites you want to visit.

Increasing targeted traffic to your site is an ongoing struggle
for every webmaster. I hope you can try some of the techniques
that have worked for me. I am sure they will also work for you.

How long does it take to see some serious traffic?

There is no simple answer to this, but my own experience shows that you can see some traffic within 7 days, and if you do everything right, your traffic would grow fast in every 7 days.

The biggest problem for new sites is that they are not trusted by Google. There are 2 ways to counter this problem:

1. Get at least 100 blog comments from authority blogs in your niche, if you can't find that many, find PR 6 and above authority blogs and post comments on them. Preferably, you should find blogs with a direct PR 6 and above or domain PR 6 with page PR 1 would give you similar effect, but requires a lot more links, may be 500 blog comments.

2. The second way is much easier, buy a 2 year old domain with at least PR3 or greater - Although the higher the better, domains that are PR 5 and above just cost too much!

You should go after domains that are listed with DMOZ and Yahoo directory, but this is not required in most cases. After acquiring the domain, do a 301 redirect or just use your domain provider's URL forward feature (Note: you must select 301 forward) to redirect this domain to your new domain!

The idea here is not to get the link juice, but rather the trust rank from this domain.

Extra Traffic Tactic: How to Get More Views on Your EzineArticles?

As you probably know, EzineArticles.com is one of the top article directories online. However, did you know that there’s a trick you can use to make it even more powerful.

Here’s what you do…

You’ll notice at the bottom of each article a section called “Most Viewed” and “Most Published”. However, did you know that there’s an easy way to get your article into these sections for tons of extra exposure and internal backlinks?

The Most Published section is easier to get into so let’s start with that one. First, you need to grab the EzinePublisher URL for your article. You’ll find this at the top right hand side of the page. You’ll see a list of icons with a printer icon at the top. Well, right below the printer icon that says “Print This Article”, you will see a link that says “EzinePublisher”.

Go ahead and click on this link. Now, grab the URL for this link and paste it into a text document because we’re going to be using this URL for a little while.

You see, in order to get into the “Most Published” section, you need to get the most clicks onto your EzinePublisher link. To do this, we will be promoting the link ourselves outside of EzineArticles by using social bookmarking, Twitter, and a few other sources.

So, first you will need to submit your EzinePublisher url to all of the different social bookmarkings sites like Digg, Mixx, Delicious, etc.. You can do this semi-automatically at SocialPoster.com.

Once you have submitted your URL to all of the different social bookmarking sites, you can then send it out to all of your friends on Twitter, FriendFeed, and other microblogging platforms.

By doing this, you will increase the views on your Publisher page, allowing you to get into the “Most Published” section. Once your article has been placed in the “Most Published” section, it will be placed on every single article within that particular category.

This means extra exposure for your article. But more importantly, it means MORE LINK JUICE. You see, the internal linking structure within EzineArticles.com is EXTREMELY powerful for ranking in Google. These internal links are very powerful.

By getting your article in the “Most Viewed” or “Most Published” section, you are increasing the number of internal links pointing to that article, which can make a huge difference in how the article ranks in Google.

Do you see where I’m going with this?

First you need to make sure you’re using the targeted keyword phrases in your article title and sprinkled throughout your article. Then, by getting your article placed in the “Most Viewed” or “Most Published” section, you can dramatically increase your Google rankings because your article now has more internal links pointing to it.

If you want to get into the “Most Viewed” section, you use the same technique, but this time you will be promoting the URL of the actual article.

If you want to guarantee your spot in the “Most Viewed” section you can use StumbleUpon advertising, which is just 5 cents per view.

This is one of the simplest ways to get your article in the “Most Viewed” section. Plus, by using StumbleUpon, you’re also driving lots of targeted traffic to your article and increasing your exposure.

Best of all, those articles and blog posts will show up on the front page of the Ning Community. Very Powerful!!!

Here’s another simple strategy for getting lots of extra views on your video. Simply find existing videos on YouTube that are related to yours and have a lot of views. Then, copy their tags to the video you’re uploading. This gives you’re video a very good chance of appearing in the related videos in the sidebar, which can send you a ton of extra traffic.

How To Explode Your Blog Traffic With Video Responses?

If you do any video marketing at all, then you should immediately add video responses to your marketing arsenal. This is a very simple technique you can use to dramatically increase your YouTube video views. I’ve used this one simple tactic to get thousands of extra views on a single video.

Here’s how you do it:

First, you’ll need to upload a video to YouTube.com.

This is a great video about dog training that’s received over 100,000 views. That’s definitely the type of video that you would want to post a video response to.

So you after you find a popular related video, you would then post a video response. To do this, you’ll need to look underneath the video in the section called“Video Responses”.

On the right hand-side you’ll see a blue link that says “Post a Video Response”.

Click on that link and you will then be taken to a page where you can post a video response.

Click on the link in the middle that say, “Choose a Video”. From here you will choose one of the videos you have already uploaded on YouTube and click on the button that says, “Respond with This Video”. You need to choose a related video to post a video response to.

Now, once you have posted a video response, you can go back to the video and you will now see that your video is listed in the Video Responses section.

As you can imagine, if you have posted a video response to a very popular video, you can get thousands of views coming to your video from the video response you’ve just posted.

This is one of the easiest ways to divert traffic to your videos.

Don’t take this strategy for granted. It’s EXTREMELY powerful and it has brought thousands of extra visitors to my videos. Simply find popular videos that are related to yours and post a video response.

How Comments Can Lead to Real Traffic?

So, we’ve established that great content is rule number one. Without it, all traffic to your blog is pretty much a waste.

Beyond that, the secret to blog comments that ultimately lead to traffic establish…

…relationships.

Shocking, I know.

Think about it. It’s no secret that many of the people who comment on blogs are also bloggers. They simply have more motivation to take the time to comment.

There are four options when you search for a term on Technorati, you can search through blogs, posts, photos and videos. In reality the only ones that concern us are blogs and posts.

Blogs - Ultimately we are hoping to find blogs related to the keywords we enter, that way we have a pretty good chance of being able to make repeated comments on the blog.

Posts – If we can’t find blogs related to our niche then we will have to resort to single posts that are related. This isn’t really a problem, it just means there is probably no point of book marking or returning to the blog for future posts.

Google Blog Search

Google blog search works in exactly the same way as the regular Google search except the results only contain blogs. You can use all the search operators such as “” to get more exact results and so on.
Google blog search only shows blog posts, so you may go through a lot of posts before you find a really good blog to proactively comment on.

Advanced Search Operators

Google allows you to use special ‘operators’ to further define your search. You may have come across some of these such as the “site:blogcommentblueprint.com” which shows all indexed pages of blogcommentblueprint.com
If you are looking for blogs to comment on then you could use a query like this:
This would give you a selection of blogs or posts using the keyword ‘money’ in the title and have a comment section for you to comment on.

A lot of people have asked why I haven’t compiled a list of dofollow blogs, the main reason is that they go out of date very quickly, often people enable dofollow just to get on the list then remove it and other things like that. Hence why I suggest you find the blogs yourself and create your own high quality list.
